WHAT
WE DO

Project Foster (formerly, My Own, A Case for Kids) is a community-driven volunteer organization that gives our most vulnerable population, foster children aged 3-21, the dignity and hope they need by providing new, tangible belongings they can call their own. ​

 

Each of our donated rolling suitcases and duffle bags is filled with basic hygiene essentials, clothing, school supplies, books/toys and a handwritten note of encouragement. We work closely with Orange County Social Services to ensure that these filled suitcases quickly get to the children in the OC Child and Family Services foster care program. We are currently working to expand this program to aid vulnerable children referred by schools and other public agencies in South Orange County.  

 

Since its founding in January 2023, Project Foster has provided over 2,800 suitcases to Orange County’s foster kids.

 

We accept cash donations, volunteer packing assistance and/or in-kind donations of new suitcases, clothing or other items on our wish list. You can also donate a filled suitcase with items using our Packing List.  

 

You may ship items directly to us or host your own packing event and invite us to work with your company, nonprofit or other service organization to provide filled suitcases for delivery to children in need. We are happy to arrange a speaking engagement and/or provide leadership at your own packing event.
