Dana Point Women’s Club members are South Orange County women of all ages and walks of life who join together to have "fun in philanthropy". They generously donate their time, talents and financial resources to strengthen the local community through our many philanthropic projects. Our programs empower and support local women, children and families and are focused on addressing poverty, child abuse and neglect, preventing homelessness, and promoting child welfare, literacy and education.

Our Commitment

Monthly Meetings

Generally the first Thursday of each month September through June held at 11AM to 1 PM with 30 minutes of optional social time prior to the luncheon meeting.

Our monthly meetings include board updates, sharing a meal together (catered or prepared by our member culinary crew) and hearing from an interesting speaker and/or participating in a fun interactive task or event. Most of the meetings are held at Community House, DPWC's Clubhouse, and on occasion at other local Dana Point establishments. This has been our tradition since 1951! Meetings are held September through June, with the summer months reserved for Board training and annual planning.  A fee of $30 is charged for each meeting to defray the costs of food, decor and supplies.

Fundraisers/Member Events

Hosted throughout the year

DPWC  hosts  a major annual fundraiser benefiting one of our philanthropies, usually scheduled in the spring. Our members are expected to attend the annual fundraiser and/or donate, volunteer at the event, and/or help with sponsorship or auction solicitation to help us meet our philanthropic goal. We also host "Girl's Night Out” events throughout the year including things like wine tastings, art and cultural outings, sip and paint events, special speaker events, member game days or nights, a monthly book club and more. We encourage our members to forge lasting friendships while serving the community by participating fully in our DPWC sisterhood.

Member Commitment

How our members participate and contribute

Members are asked to attend our monthly meetings, our annual fundraiser and member social events whenever possible. We ask that members invite their family and friends to our fundraiser and help spread awareness in the community about Dana Point Women's Club and our heartwarming philanthropies. We also encourage members to volunteer for at least one committee and contribute  a minimum of two hours of service per month or 20 hours per year.  Additional commitments include:

  • New Member one time Initiation Fee: $40

  • Annual Membership Fee: $60

  • Monthly Meetings: Typically a $30 per person fee

  • Annual Fundraiser: Typically $100 per person

  • Examples of donations throughout the year: Book drives, food drives, children's Angel Tree gifts, raffle prizes, optional free will cash or in-kind donations.  All donations to DPWC are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
