Don’t Miss our Graduation Tea

Our May 2nd Graduation Tea is not to be missed!  We will be honoring three amazing young ladies who are graduating from Dana Hills High School, each of whom will receive a $1500 scholarship . We will also be presenting our Cocktails for a Cause event proceeds to Orange County United Way for its SparkPoint South OC program; hearing about a special endowment to our scholarship program and listening as Joan Kerr provides highlights of her recent visit to an event hosted by the CA Federation of Women's Clubs. See you there!

Cocktails for a Cause -  A Huge Success!

Our third Annual Cocktails for a Cause was a huge success. Between our first ever Live Auction under the direction of the ever-entertaining Bob Lee, beautiful silent auction and raffle items donated by our generous sponsors and members, and our first ever charity wine pull, net event proceeds were $18,000 - almost double the amount we raised last time. Event Chair Marla Freeman will present a check to representatives of United Way’s SPARKPOINT South Orange County at our May 2nd luncheon. Read more HERE.

Orange County United Way’s SparkPoint program helps struggling families to not just “survive” but “thrive”! Thank you for your help and ongoing generosity!

Bunco Playdate!

About 25 DPWC members had a ball at our April 17th playdate at Community House. The post-fundraiser event was pure fun - Bunco, snacks, drinks and a lot of chatting and laughter as members rotated tables and got to know each other better. Our intrepid Ways & Means Director, Marla Freeman will be coordinating with our new Membership Chair, Jill Robinson in FY 24/25 to host more playdates. Stay tuned!

Visit DPWC volunteers at the REDO Market

On Sunday, April 28th, 14 volunteers will be manning a drinks booth at the Redo Market in the Lantern District. This opportunity comes to us via our valued member and Chamber of Commerce President, Vickie McMurchie. DPWC volunteers will earn $500 for our Club and have a great time as well! Come by for a visit!

Membership Dues are DUE!

As you know, our fiscal year ends May 31st. We will be sending invoices for Fiscal Year 24/25 membership renewals soon. Annual membership will remain at our low $60 fee which is due April 1st and in arrears on May 1st.

All members, including new members, have received an invoice for $60. Please remember that new members have paid a $40 one time initiation fee, and a pro-rated membership fee for FY 23/24 depending upon when they joined. The renewal fee of $60 is due for the NEXT fiscal year and must be paid by all members regardless of when they joined this year.

In addition to funding new members badges, initiation fees contribute to a portion of our Club overhead. The Board’s financial management goal is to fund Club overhead costs entirely from membership fees and meeting profits, so that 100% of funds raised for our philanthropies can be directly passed on to our charitable causes with nothing retained for overhead. A portion of initiation and membership fees (currently $22 per member) is used to cover fees levied by theGeneral Federation of Women’s Clubs (national organization) and the California Federation of Women’s Clubs.
